Scope and Contents From the Collection:

Photographs and postcards are primarily of Juneau with a few other southeast Alaska towns included. Winter & Pond, W.H. Case and C.W. Beyers, Ordway, F. Matheson, and Kirk[?] photographers are represented in the collection. A photograph listing on W.H. Case letterhead follows the photographs, however, only photographs 1-27 were received by the Library. Also included is a description of The Beaver Pole. The bulk of the photographs were from the 1907-1935 time period.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: Photographs of the Nome area, 1900-1903, Eskimos and Alaskan scenics. Some of the photographs were taken by Perry Moore. Others are commercially prepared; some by O.D. Goetze. NOTE: Included are several photographs of a visit by U.S. Senators. These are possibly Senator W. P. Dillingham, of Vermont, Senator H. E. Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The collection contains views of tourists and touring cars from the early 20th century, hotels and roadhouses along the Fairbanks-Valdez Trail. Locations include Paxson, Gulkana, Copper Creek, Salchaket, Sourdough, Kenny Lake, McCarty, Meiers, Munson, Rapids and Youst. Also included are a few images of the Black Wolf Squadron. Most individuals and community businesses are identified.

Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The Davis collection contains 35 black and white photographs of various sizes regarding Rosemary Davis’ teaching career in Alaska. The photographs show Rosemary, high school basketball teams, school band class, Douglas Island Women’s club, native school children, the Bethel Beach Home for native children (Christine Peterson and Mrs. Millie Stevenson, missionaries in charge). Rosemary is in many of the photographs and is holding a saxophone in the band class photo.

Scope and Contents From the Collection:

Photographs were taken circa 1934 on board the NORTHLAND around Nome area. Photos show activities of the Coast Guardsman and others on board the NORTHLAND as well as on the shore. A few photos are of a whaling boat. First image is a Christmas greeting card from the NORTHLAND.

Special file on Alaska history (1764-1967) collected by the Alaska Purchase Centennial Commission for the celebration, 1967. Selections include portraits of historical figures, images from early exploration, towns, industry, natural resources and environment, Alaska native communities and art, and maps.
